Tropical Storm Andrea

Yesterday I was expecting a house full to arrive tonight.  There would have been 7 kids and 4 adults under roof this weekend!   Girls had planned to come down Thursday nite, we'd go to Splash-in-the-Boro Friday, have the yard sale on Saturday, church Sunday morn, and then go to Chic's place on the river for Nathan's Birthday Party Sunday evening.   Well Tropical Storm Andrea nixed most all of that!!!  Today(Thursday) it has rained all day... this is the leading edge of the storm,  tomorrow the rain is supposed to be joined by wind, thunder and lightening, then Saturday is to be another day of rain.   Earlier today, after getting the low-down on the forecast, plans changed.  Would not be the most fun to have us all cooped up in the house for 2 1/2 days!!!  The girls will come down to the river on Sunday since it is to be clear by the afternoon.  We'll go over for the afternoon, to  celebrate Nathan's Birthday;  they will then stay and camp until Tuesday.  Visiting with us, Splash-in-the-Boro & the yard sale is postponed until a sunnier weekend.

Today the baby Bluebirds fledged!  They picked an awful icky day to fly the coop!

These 1st 2 pictures were taken last week. According to those in the "know" this bluebird house is NOT in a good location to raise bluebirds!  Since we have lived here there have been at least 2 families raised each year and often as many a 5 different families in a season!   These 4 babies(below) are the second family this year.

This is Baby1.

Baby1  does not want to fly....
Mom & Pop are raising cain about it!!! They have run off a mockingbird and dive bombed me twice while I tried to get pictures of Baby1.

But Baby1 is stubborn.  He is not liking all this rain! and is sitting tight!

This is Baby2. He got in the garage and we had to gently convince him to leave... He is much more active and flew under the van and then out the other side.
  We never saw babies 3&4.
Baby 1 is still not wanting to take to the air.  Sitting in the rain.....

Mom & pop are still fussing at him and flying all around trying to get him to GO!

Went back out about 3 hours later, did not see Baby1, but Mom & Pop still twitting and flying all around so I know he has not yet departed.  Hope he gets gone before the kitties find him.

Well, we are prepared to hunker down for this little bit of turbulence, don't really expect to much from it, but tis always better to be prepared.
May God Bless you and why don't 'cha go have a cuppa, I'm headed that way to chase away the gray. Having a cup of tea is like soaking up sunshine.
