Just some random thoughts for today, I am trying to be a "Blogger" and blog something everyday for a week -- then we'll see if I keep this up :)
My mother was a wonderful seamtress and made me this dress for me to play the part of "Martha Washington" in a school play. It was 1960 & I was 9 yrs old. She also made my sister & me beautiful ballerina bed spreads. The top was edged with cording she made and the skirt was a beautifully gathered. They were beautiful -- wish I had pictures of them too. We had several mother/daughter outfits she made us and I especially remember the poodle skirts she made us all too. She made me tons of Barbie clothes!! Later she told me those were the hardest things she had ever sewn & that she had to use little crochet hooks to turn them. Thanks mom - I cherish these memories.
